• Identify various components that should be included in Collaborative Practice Agreements.

Conference Description :
With over 85% of the US population residing within 5 miles of a community pharmacy, pharmacists are often cited as the most accessible healthcare provider. However, for pharmacists to provide patient care services beyond the typical pharmacist scope of practice, a Collaborative Practice Agreement (CPA) must exist between the pharmacist and physician, outlining the specific terms of patient care services provided by the pharmacist. These patient care services can include patient assessment, ordering labs, and initiation, adjustment and/or discontinuation of current drug therapy.

This course will review the definition and key elements of a CPA. It will also review different approaches to building relationships with other healthcare providers that can lead to establishing a CPA. It will also provide resources such as a template CPA that can easily be adapted to any practice.
