Learning Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
• Incorporate an understanding of anti-inflammatory mechanisms of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk reduction.
• Determine the pleiotropic benefits of omega-3 PUFAs and their clinical utilities in ASCVD.
• Apply the most recent clinical evidence for the impact of omega-3 PUFAs in CV outcomes trials, including interprofessional approaches to care for patients at risk for CV  events.
• Select statin-treated patients who are at risk for CV events despite well-controlled LDL-C levels and may benefit from ongoing pharmacological management for CV risk reduction.
