Course Description :
This clinical genetics case-based review will highlight complexities associated with genetic test result interpretation. Learners will review risk factors associated with hereditary cancer susceptibility, as well as management implications from positive genetic test results. This discussion will also highlight recent current events that have brought genetic testing implications into the public eye.
Learning Objectives :
• Explain the benefits and limitations of surveillance and risk management options for cancer predisposition syndrome.
• Recognize the changing landscape of genetic testing, including syndrome-driven testing compared to multi-gene panel testing.
• Identify appropriate complexities related to genetic testing and recognize the implication of variants of unknown significance.
