Directions:
This module is the fifth of 6 modules in the Clinical Dietetics for Bariatric Surgery Evergreen course. The aim of this module is to give dietitians the ability to manage the postoperative nutrition of the patient with metabolic and bariatric surgery (MBS).

Learning Outcomes:

  • Apply standardized nutrition language, critical thinking, and clinical reasoning to the postoperative nutritional assessment and diagnosis of the patient with metabolic and bariatric surgery (MBS) relevant to the postoperative timepoint (up to the first 12-months postop)
  • Integrate the elements of evidence-based practice to evaluate postoperative nutritional therapy approaches with a focus on nourishment and symptom management rather than dieting
