Course Description :
Chromoendoscopy reveals otherwise invisible changes of the GI lining, enabling the endoscopist to obtain what would otherwise be an unobtainable directed biopsy. It also improves the definition and thus the ability to evaluate any lesions, and more clearly delineates their margins and intrinsic characteristics. This continuing education program discusses the role of chromoendoscopy in the diagnosis of diseases of the GI tract through the identification of abnormal mucosal areas. Procedures, uses, risks, and benefits are discussed.
