Description:
NCQA Distinction in Behavioral health helps primary care practices better integrate behavioral healthcare into their care delivery. Behavioral health conditions (mental illnesses, substance use disorders) are often under-diagnosed late, delaying treatment. This leads to poorer health outcomes and higher costs of care.

These conditions can often be identified and treated in a primary care setting, which can result in seamless care. This improves treatment of behavioral health conditions, and other chronic medical conditions, resulting in better health outcomes overall.

During the Best Practices in Behavioral Health Distinction webinar, faculty will offer a review of the program requirements and outline best practice approaches within different care delivery settings. Faculty will discuss practice readiness, as well as how to develop a plan to implement both in-house and telehealth services. In addition, this program will include recommendations for how to dual purpose documentation and prepare evidence for virtual review.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of the program, participants will be able to:
• Describe Behavioral Health Distinction requirements, the application process and Q-PASS enrollment.
• Identify challenges to behavioral health integration and opportunities for support.
• Construct a strategy to implement Behavioral Health Distinction within different practice settings.
• Prepare Behavioral Health Distinction for presentation to NCQA through the virtual review process.
