Hemodynamics, Part 2 provides an in-depth review of nursing priorities for hemodynamic monitoring and assessment, factors affecting cardiac output, assessment and interventions for oxygenation and oxygen transport, and nursing priorities for intervening for alterations in preload, afterload, and contractility including vasoactive medication management. Within each topic area, you will explore measures to ensure accuracy, troubleshoot monitoring issues, intervene for alterations, and prevent complications.

Learning Objectives:

  • Measure cardiac output, and interpret the significance of trending a virtual patient’s hemodynamics.
  • Measure a virtual patient’s oxygen supply and demand.
  • Respond appropriately to oxygen supply and demand imbalances.
  • Assess and intervene to improve the virtual patient’s hemodynamics (cardiac output) through the administration of pharmacologic agents.
