Call to Action: HBV Treatment Evaluation and Initiation in Primary Care Settings is organized by CME Outfitters, LLC and will be held from Aug 15, 2018 - Aug 15, 2019.

Target Audience
Primary care physicians, internists, gastroenterologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and pharmacists who treat patients with HBV.

Statement of Need:
HBV phases are dynamic; as such, patients with hepatitis B can transition between phases. Current therapies for HBV have demonstrated efficacy in normalizing ALT levels, decreasing HBV DNA levels, and seroconversion from HBeAg positive to HBeAb positive. However, they are limited in eliminating the virus and achieving a “functional cure”.

AASLD practice guidances are developed by a panel of experts and put forward to help clinicians understand and implement the most recent evidence about optimal treatment intervention in patients with HBV. With knowledge of these guidances, clinicians can set goals and build strategies for preventing new viral hepatitis infections, reducing deaths, and improving the health of people living with viral hepatitis.

This CME Outfitters mobile case series includes spaced case vignettes that test knowledge, confidence, and competence in practice, with the goal of helping primary care and internal medicine clinicians optimize treatment for patients with HBV.

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this CE activity, participants should be able to:
• Utilize AASLD guidance updates to facilitate decision-making for optimal treatment intervention in patients with HBV.
