This webinar will discuss the IT challenges laboratories face as they build their sequencing and bioinformatics capacity. Participants will have the opportunity to hear from an IT solutions architect and a bioinformatician from different state public health laboratories. The speakers will share how the public health laboratories have built their bioinformatics capacity while considering IT security requirements.
Objectives:
At the conclusion of the program, the participant will be able to:
- Explain the challenges public health laboratories face balancing IT concerns such as accessing Linux and cloud computing and the needs for appropriate bioinformatic capacity
- Define strategies for constructive conversations to meet IT security needs and bioinformatics capacity
- Summarize potential strategies for building interim bioinformatics capacity while developing longer-term solutions in collaboration with your IT team
