Breaking the Barriers in Medication-Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder is organized by Healthcare Made Practical (HMP) Communications LLC and will be held from Mar 28, 2019 - Mar 28, 2020.

Intended Learners:
This activity is designed for all stakeholders in OUD management, including front-line clinicians such as physicians, nurses, and other addiction management medical professionals; counselors and therapists; executive-level decision makers at for-profit, not-for-profit, public, and private mental health and substance use treatment organizations; policy makers; prevention and public health officials; law enforcement personnel; and community advocates.

Learning Objectives:
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:

• Outline the current evidence supporting the use of MAT to improve outcomes in OUD
• Evaluate available and emerging long-acting formulations of OUD pharmacotherapies with respect to their mechanisms of action, efficacy, safety, routes of administration, and regulatory and access considerations for appropriate use
• Describe the specific needs, barriers, and considerations of OUD treatment in special settings, including the criminal justice system, Veterans Health Administration, inpatient, and outpatient facilities
• Implement strategies to overcome barriers to effective implementation of MAT in OUD management
