Overview:
Prostate cancer represents a topic of extreme interest for modern clinical oncology.
The urologist, the oncologist and the radiotherapist are increasingly involved in the management of the patient suffering from prostate cancer, from the early stage of the disease to the advanced and metastatic one.
Prolonged treatment with androgen deprivation therapy is characterized by a significant loss of bone matrix which is 4.5% / year for men.
This damage to the bone matrix, which is not always diagnosed in time, is associated with a significant increase in the risk of fractures.
Treatment with Bone Target Agent (BTA) has a favorable effect on bone density but has not been shown to have an effect on fracture incidence.
Other therapies favorably influencing bone density are able to reduce the risk of fractures, and this also has a favorable impact on survival.
The aim of the event is to deepen and create a platform for comparison between specialists dealing with prostate cancer, to increase and improve patient management.
