Conference Description:
As the volume of medical imaging obtained in the emergency department (ED) has increased over the last two decades, emergency physicians are now at the forefront of determining patients' exposure to ionizing radiation. Ordering physicians must be aware of risks inherent to ionizing radiation, available alternative imaging modalities and appropriateness of each study.

Learning Objectives:
• Apply the American College of Radiology (ACR) guidelines in the utilization of iodinated contrast for cross-sectional imaging in the ED setting for body imaging cases.
• Discuss body CT protocols with and without contrast, as well as indications, contraindications and alternatives to cross-sectional CT imaging.
• Identify the accurate imaging test to obtain the correct diagnosis for the clinical question.
