Program Overview:
Managed care professionals are responsible for weighing the efficacy, safety, and cost of therapeutic interventions against considerations of member affordability and access to care. In retinal disease management, managed care professionals have an opportunity to use data to evaluate prescribing trends and improve collaboration with retinal specialists. This case study will focus on identifying health plan strategies to support informed and appropriate utilization of specialty medications and organizational resources.

Educational Objectives:
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
• Apply health plan strategies using data to identify market trends and variation in anti-VEGF agent prescribing patters
• Employ actionable steps to build collaborative relationships with retinal specialists
• Identify health plan strategies to support informed and appropriate utilization of specialty medications and organizational resources.
