This session focuses on variety of issues related to managing atrial fibrillation including thromboembolism prophylaxis, rate and rhythm control, and guideline directed management.

Objectives:
At the completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
• Translate emerging clinical science to clinical practice in patients with cardiovascular disease and stroke.
• Evaluate and implement new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for treating cardiovascular disorders and stroke.
• Demonstrate an understanding of newly developed concepts in the care of patients with common cardiovascular problems including atrial fibrillation, hypertension, heart failure, and dyslipidemia.
• Describe treatment strategies for cardiovascular problems that can be deployed in the outpatient setting and keep patients out of the hospital.
