Atopic Dermatitis: Optimizing Outcomes is organized by Physicians Education Resource, LLC (PER) and will be held during Oct 19, 2017 - Oct 19, 2018.
The target audience for this medical event is Dermatologists, primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and all other healthcare professionals involved in the care and treatment of patients with atopic dermatitis (AD). This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Conference Overview :
Identified gaps indicate a need to educate healthcare providers in the diagnosis, treatment and management of atopic dermatitis (AD). This CME/CE program provides information on the role of immune abnormalities and skin-barrier dysfunction in the development of AD and how this understanding informs and can helps guide treatment selection. Expert faculty will discuss guidelines for diagnosis and management of AD, and summarize data on current and emerging topical and systemic therapies to help providers optimize treatment outcomes. This activity will provide HCPs with the practical skills necessary to educate patients in self-care, thereby reducing relapses and enhancing their health-related quality of life.
Conference Objectives :
Upon completion of this free educational activity, participants will be able to:
• Explain the pathophysiology, signs and symptoms, and diagnostic criteria of atopic dermatitis.
• Design individualized treatment plans for adults with moderate-to-severe AD based on current guideline recommendations for AD, the safety and efficacy of new and emerging treatment options, comorbidities, and patient quality of life
• Diagnose AD in adult patients based on the evaluation of clinical characteristics specific to the adult patient population
• Examine communication and education strategies to improve adherence to AD treatment strategies and assess the effects of treatment on patient quality of life
