Overview:
The importance of prudent prescribing of antimicrobial agents cannot be overstated. With the ever-increasing issues of antibiotic resistance and more scrutiny for appropriate prescribing of antibiotics, understanding the latest treatment guidelines for common infections is imperative. This presentation will review evidence-based guidelines for the treatment of various infections and focus on potential adverse reactions, drug interactions and warnings associated with some of the commonly prescribed antibiotics.

This CE activity is a recording of a CE session from the AANP 2019 National Conference. It has been edited to meet requirements for online learning. If you received CE credit for attending the live session at Conference, you many not receive duplication credit for this same activity in a different format.

Objectives:
• Review the guidelines for appropriate treatment of the most common types of infections, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic approaches.
• Compare and contrast antibiotic classes, focusing on spectrum of activity and potential adverse reactions.
• Discuss antimicrobial resistance and prudent prescribing.

Additional details will be posted as soon as information is available.
