OVERVIEW

An Update on Complement 3 glomerulopathy (C3G) and immune complex membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis (IC-MPGN) Management is organized by National Kidney Foundation (NKF).

Available From: 7/27/2026, 9:30 AM
Available Until: 7/27/2027, 9:30 AM

Description:
Complement 3 glomerulopathy (C3G) and immune complex membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis (IC-MPGN) are conditions that lead to eventual progression to kidney failure for most people impacted by them. The landscape for C3G and IC-MPGN has undergone significant change. This session will discuss the latest insights on the pathophysiology of C3G and IC-MPGN and the role complement dysregulation. Similarities and differences between these two conditions will be discussed. Recognition, diagnosis and treatment strategies will be addressed. An update on the application of complement inhibition to manage C3G and IC-MPGN will also be included. A individual with C3G will provide a perspective on working with the healthcare team to manage care.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize the pathophysiology and clinical characteristics of C3G and IC-MPGN
  • Recall treatment options for C3G and IC-MPGN, including supportive therapy and complement inhibition
  • Apply management practices for C3G and IC-MPGN using a case-based approach
  • Appreciate the role of communication between the patient and clinician in C3C or IC-MPGN management
