OVERVIEW
American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) : Review of Practice Changing Research is organized by City of Hope and would be held during Aug 15, 2017 - Aug 15, 2018.
The target audience for this medical event for Medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, internists and other allied health care professionals. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 1.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Performance Gap Imperative :
Due to budgetary and time constraints, many oncologists and researchers are unable to attend the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting. It is widely acknowledged that the ASCO Annual Meeting is one of the premier oncology meetings at which key findings from practice changing studies and the latest clinical data are presented and discussed. This information is of vital importance to the improvement of patient outcome . Physicians need to be provided with the context with which to integrate this relevant information into their practices. This review of key clinical data as presented on hepatobiliary and gynecologic cancers has been designed specifically to meet this need for those busy physicians who are unable to attend the ASCO 2017.
Objectives :
At the end of this continuing medical education activity, participants should be able to:
• Profile and discuss advances in clinical and translational cancer research as presented at the 2017 ASCO meeting
• Interpret the role of these emerging therapeutic data and its application to the treatment of patients with cancer
• Implement new patient management and care strategies or revise existing ones based upon knowledge gained at the 2017 ASCO meeting
• Assess the safety and efficacy of recent clinical advances and apply methods to mitigate toxicity in the treatment of patients with cancer
