American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Series on Medical Ethics Highlight - Fundamentals of Informed Consent is organized by American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) and will be held during Apr 01, 2017 - Mar 31, 2018.

The target audience for this medical event is anesthesiologists, Researchers and other healthcare professionals with an interest in anesthesiology may also participate. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Course Description:
This education series on clinical ethics includes case-based questions and provides a foundation for educational institutions, physicians and other healthcare workers to be able to remotely experience ethics education and learn methods to analyze clinical ethics situations, chapters include:
• End-Of-Life Issues: Withdrawal of Life-Sustaining Therapy – Religious Perspectives
• Practicing Under Altered Standards of Care
• Disagreements Over Goals of Care and the Concept of “Futility”
• Organ Donation

Conference Objectives are :
• Identify issues in management of ethical clinical situations fundamental to anesthesiology.
• Apply the bioethical principles of autonomy, beneficence, nonmaleficence and a patient’s right to self-determination in ethical decision- making including those in end-of-life issues.
• Identify available resources to help inform ethical decision-making.
