The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Research-Oriented Career Knowledge and Support (ROCKS) web sessions equip you for a successful research-oriented career, one step at a time. This session featured the NCI Program Official(s) to provide an overview of the NCI Small Business Innovation Research/Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) programs, and SBIR/STTR awardees shared their keys to successfully applying for funding, carrying out the proposed project(s), balance their academic/small business efforts, and leverage the SBIR/STTR mechanisms to advance their radiation research careers.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Explain differences between the SBIR and STTR programs.
  • Discuss the benefits of SBIR/STTR funding.
  • Implement strategies shared from the Program Director for a successful application.
