Did you know that allergic rhinitis (AR) is the sixth-leading cause of chronic illness in the US? Since AR significantly affects quality of life and is associated with an increased risk of developing asthma, accurate diagnosis and treatment planning are essential. This session will discuss the quality of life burden on patients with AR, individualized strategies for allergen testing and avoidance, and appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, including sublingual allergen immunotherapy.
Objectives :
• Implement appropriate allergy testing to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis of patients with allergic rhinitis
• Evaluate the efficacy and safety of new and emerging treatments for allergic rhinitis, with a specific focus on allergen immunotherapy
