AHRO Masterclass in Adult Mental Health is organized by AHRO Center for Academic Research, AHRO University.

Description:
This course aims to cater for the crucial needs of society and would go a long way in fulfilling the mental health requirements of the people, keeping in mind the shortage of mental health personnel. This course is designed to help learners develop more expertise and in-depth understanding in adult mental health. It will help learners appreciate the client as a holistic individual and develop skills to function as educator, manager, and researcher in mental health.

Learning Objectives:
At the end of the course the learners will be able to:

  • Review the concept of mental health and illness in adult.
  • Explore the trends and issues in the field of mental health and illness in adult.
  • Understand psychobiology in mental disorders and it’s implication.  
  • Appraise the different theories related to mental health.
  • Identify and critique mental health in specific populations- adolescent, women and old age.
  • Demonstrate understanding of ECT therapy.

  • Overview of fundamentals of mental health and illness 
  • Review of theories related to mental health
  • Review of mental health disorders
  • Reviews of evidence based practices in mental health of specific areas and populations
  • Overview of Electro Convulsive Therapy
  • Communication in mental health
