Refresher Courses are sessions captured at past RSNA Annual Meetings focusing on themes of health care reform, payment models, research and innovation, patient-centered radiology, and advances in the different imaging modalities. Refresher Courses are targeted to diagnostic, interventional and oncologic radiologists and are designed to improve knowledge and competence in responding to the challenges and advancements in the field of radiology. Most courses include an audio-visual presentation, as well as a corresponding transcript.
Course Learning Objectives:
• Summarize the role of lesion volumetry in CT, especially in the setting of oncologic imaging.
• Recognize the basic methods in lesion volumetry.
• Recognize the factors that influence the measurement of lesion volume in CT.
• Review different dual-energy CT imaging techniques for material identification.
• Provide an overview of clinically available applications of material identification using dual-energy CT.
• Identify factors that can affect the reproducibility of quantitative measurements of material composition using dual-energy CT.
• Recognize the concept of texture-based image characterization.
• Identify radiologic tasks in CT that could benefit from image texture analysis.
• Describe the limitations of these techniques.
