Adductor Muscles Course is organized by Brookbush Institute.
Course Description:
Exercises and techniques for the hip adductor complex may contribute to the development of lower body (leg) and total body strength. The hip adductor muscles are located on the inner thigh, cross the hip and knee joints, and play a critical role in motion of the hips, pelvis, and knee. The hip adductor muscles can also play a role in injury, including groin pain, groin strain, hip joint impingement, low back pain, knee valgus, and knee pain. To get the most out of your strength training for lower body muscles, and to aid in the prevention of hip adductor injuries, you will need more than just an inner thigh stretch. Sports medicine professionals should have knowledge of the functional anatomy of the adductor muscle group, its role in posture (behavior in postural dysfunction and movement impairment), role in functional movement, and a repertoire of adductor exercises and techniques.
Behavioral Objectives
• Students will be prepared to pass a final exam by choosing from a list of potential answers to behavior-objective matched multiple-choice questions.
• Explain the integrated relationship between the adductors and 5 other structures
• By the end of the seminar, the participant will be able to recall at least 5 anatomical features related to the adductors
• List at least 3 techniques that may be used to address dysfunction of the adductors
• Describe the behavior of this muscle at it relates to postural dysfunction
