This activity is approved for 2.5 contact hours (0.25 CEU) under the ACPE universal activity number 0290-0000-19-222-H01-P. The activity is available for CE credit through September 30, 2020.

Activity Overview:
This activity is intended to increase knowledge regarding oral conditions, such as acid erosion/wear, xerostomia, periodontal disease, and oral conditions found in the edentulous population. Education will focus on disease states, identifying of at-risk patients, available treatment options, and opportunities to treat disease and improve overall oral health.

Educational Objectives:
At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
• Explain causes of dental erosions and appropriately select nonprescription therapies to treat the associated pain and sensitivity
• Identify medications and other likely causes of xerostomia and counseling points for appropriate therapies to alleviate the associated symptoms
• Explore causes of periodontal disease and assist patients in eliminating factors contributing to gingivitis
• Examine methods to prevent adverse health consequences associated with edentulism and recommend appropriate products to clean dentures
