• Describe the etiology and clinical features of gingival abscess, periodontal abscess and periocoronal abscess.
• Describe gingival diseases of viral origin.
• Distinguish between recurrent oral herpes and recurrent aphthous stomatitis.
• Identify sources of intraoral allergic reactions.
• Distinguish between necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis (NUG) and necrotizing ulcerative periodontitis (NUP).
