Description:
Abdominal vascular sonography has gained an increasingly important role in the diagnosis and management of patients with hepato-portal, mesenteric and renal disorders. While technically challenging, these studies offer the opportunity to apply sonographic skills and knowledge of the physical principles of ultrasound, hemodynamics, and the pathophysiology of abdominal vascular disease. This presentation will address the most common pathologies, technical protocols for sonographic evaluation, and the capabilities and limitations encountered during examination of the hepato-portal, mesenteric and renal vascular systems.
