Wound care and proper management are very important components of physical therapy. Pre-existing medical conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension and peripheral vascular disease, often complicate and delay the normal healing process. Lifestyle, occupation, and activity level may also be crucial factors in planning future treatment processes.

Objectives:
The goal of this program is to provide a basic guideline on effective wound assessment and treatment by explaining the different treatment alternatives available in the market today. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
• Enumerate the steps of a complete and comprehensive wound management assessment.
• Identify the different treatment options for specific wound conditions.
