Course Description:
As a nurse, there are boundless opportunities for you to give presentations or in-service training, so being able to give an effective presentation is an essential skill. To advance within any practice setting, nurses need to be able to communicate their knowledge, ideas, opinions and plans. This educational activity will provide key elements for planning interesting and effective presentations as well as tips on managing nervousness often associated with public speaking.

Conference Objectives:
The goal of this continuing education program is to enhance nurses’ ability to effectively present and communicate ideas, plans, opinions and knowledge through professional presentations. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:

• Describe the essential steps in planning interesting and effective professional presentations
• Identify four strategies to diminish nervousness related to public speaking
