Activity Overview:
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 80% of the world’s population use at least 1 form of complementary or alternative medicine (CAM) or a homeopathic product. To best assist and educate patients, pharmacy technicians should be aware of the most commonly inquired about products sold in their pharmacies and help patients decipher product information. This activity will also review the manufacturing process for these products and prepare pharmacy technicians to identify opportunities for appropriate discussions as well as referral to the pharmacist.

Educational Objectives:
At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
• Discuss how complementary and alternative products differ from over-the-counter medications and prescription drugs
• Identify the most common complementary and alternative products and conditions under which patients need to consult the pharmacist

Additional details will be posted as soon as information is available.
