A Primary Care Perspective on Gout - And What It Tells Us About the Strengths and Limitations of Evidence-Based Medicine is organized by David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and will be held during Mar 07, 2017 - Mar 06, 2018. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Gout is a common complaint seen in primary care clinics throughout the nation. Dr. Paul Shekelle uses the treatment of gout as a vehicle to discuss appropriate application of evidence-based medicine in the primary care setting and to be scrupulous in our evaluation of the evidence so that it is appropriately applied to our diverse patient populations.
Conference Objectives are :
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
• Counsel patients on the risks and benefits of pharmacologic interventions for management of gout.
• Select appropriate medications to manage gout.
• Apply evidence-based guidelines to a diverse population of patients.
