Throughout these activities, experts address gaps in the management of complex medical and behavioral health care. During these activities, innovative clinical, as well as diversity, equity and inclusion health care topics are brought to the forefront.

Learning Objectives
Health care professionals need to have the competency, skills, and ability to apply new information learned as they care for individual patients and their families, as well as for themselves. As a result of attending this conference, learners should be able to:

  • Provide an update on emerging therapies and effective management strategies to slow the progression of chronic kidney disease and examine approaches to optimize care pathways for CKD and its associated comorbidities.
  • Discuss the role of patient-reported outcomes in improving the quality of care and determining new approaches to achieve patient-centered care.
  • Describe the transplant experience of organ recipients, including unique challenges, health concerns and psychosocial impacts, and discuss how this knowledge can enhance providers’ empathy, communication skills and clinical care.
  • Identify advancements in cancer treatment, including a personalized approach to breast-cancer screening.
  • Examine the latest advancements in the diagnosis and management of Alzheimer’s disease, including pharmacologic therapies, neuroimaging, biomarkers, and how to optimize early intervention and the use of cognitive assessments.
  • Explain the importance of sleep on health, wellbeing, and brain function and clarify the correlation between sleep disruption and aging, chronic illness, Alzheimer’s disease, and cancer.
  • Examine multiple aspects of cardiovascular disease in women, including new diagnostic and management approaches.
  • Provide an update on current trends and emerging approaches to improve diabetes management, including AI-powered interventions that can facilitate glycemic control.
  • Describe how health care professionals can cope with grief related to caring for patients with complex medical conditions and have difficult conversations with patients and their families.
  • Assess the impact of medical misinformation and review strategies to promote accurate health information among patients and within the community
