21st Century Insights for Thyroid Disease Changing Diagnosis and Treatment Paradigms is organized by Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) Research Trust.

Term of Offering
This activity is certified for credit from November 1st 2021 to November 1st 2022. Requests for credit must be made no later than October 26th 2022.

Target Audience
The educational design of this activity addresses the needs of clinicians with an understanding of clinical medicine and the physiology of the human body involved in the treatment of patients with thyroid disorders.

Statement of Need/Program Overview
The LDN Research Trust partners with clinicians, clinical researchers, pharmacists, and patients to support breakthroughs in the treatment of autoimmune diseases and cancer via the development of clinical trials. Now, more than ever, we must encourage life-long learning among clinicians so that they may exceed the standard of care. CME ensures the enhancement of clinicians’ performance and the pursuit of patient health.

Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

2. Discuss the variables required for the development of autoimmunity.
3. Describe the proper steps for the assessment of a patient with suspicion of thyroid disease.
4. Describe the laboratory and ultrasound findings in Hashimoto’s Disease.
5. Describe the laboratory and ultrasound findings in Graves’ Disease.
6. Describe the standard treatment for Hashimoto’s Disease
7. List the three main standard treatments for Graves’ Disease.
8. Describe new insights for the management of thyroid disease patients including new adjunctive treatments and lifestyle modifications, which may mitigate symptoms and improve the quality of life for patients.
