Description:
The Avera Perinatal TeleECHO is an educational series composed of obstetric related content. This series is designed to connect providers in a collaborative effort on improving obstetric care and access to obstetric care in SD. This is a recording of the live session that discusses the decision making standards healthcare providers need to recognize, learn and discuss when working with ethical and legal implications associated with cultural beliefs and behaviors in perinatal care.
Objectives:
- Discuss the ways in which cultural beliefs and behaviors manifest in perinatal care and consider the ethical and legal implications.
- Learn about decision-making standards in perinatal care.
- Recognize that the pregnant woman and unborn baby’s interests are intertwined and may sometimes present maternal-fetal conflicts.
- Develop strategies in a team approach to prevent and manage complications related to high risk pregnancies.
