OVERVIEW

2022 Cannabis Update, Part 1: Cannabis Basics, Adverse Effects, Medicinal Uses is organized by National Board of Forensic Evaluators (NBFE), Inc..

Start: 10 Apr 2022
End: 03 Oct 2050

Description
Cannabis is now at least partially legalized in all but 11 of the 50 United States of America, though it remains illegal under federal law.  Cannabis use is a politicized issue, and with a growing “Big Cannabis” industry on one hand and a treatment industry in which cannabis use disorders are the second most common diagnosis on the other, how are busy forensic evaluators and treatment professionals who work “in the trenches” of the American healthcare system supposed to sort through the increasingly massive and contradictory assortment of information on cannabis to develop a balanced perspective.

Learning Objectives

  • Participants will articulate a basic understanding of how cannabis works in the brain.
  • Participants will identify trends in cannabis use among teens and adults in the United States.
  • Participants will review current research on the effects of cannabis on the human brain and body.
  • Participants will review current research on the medicinal use of marijuana.
