Course Description:
In the last 1980’s addiction treatment providers were exploring a consistency in treatment options and standards as a universal description by recognizing the need for standardization of treatment levels of care and placement options. The lack of consistency caused much confusion, and sparked the efforts that resulted in the ASAM Criteria. Beginning from the first edition, certain foundation concepts have continued throughout modifications, and serve as guiding principles that continue to support The ASAM Criteria.
