OVERVIEW

Radiography CQR Max Bundle is organized by X-Ray Lady.

Course Description:

Radiography: A Fundamental Review
Course Approval End Date: 01/01/29

This course provides an extensive review of the fundamentals on radiation safety, image production, and procedures. The safety chapters cover radiation physics, radiobiology, and radiation protection. The image production chapters cover image acquisition and evaluation, and equipment operation and quality assurance. The procedures chapters cover essential aspects of radiography of the head, spine and pelvis, thorax and abdomen, and extremities. This course is an ideal refresher for radiographers who have been out of the workforce and plan on returning to clinical duty and for experienced radiographers who wish for a refresher course.

This course is based on the book Radiography: A Fundamental Review, by Jeana Fleitz, M.Ed., RT(R)(M)(ARRT)™. The book/PDF is 464 pages long and 8.5 x 11 inches in size.  This book has 11 pt font and 1.5 line spacing.

The test has 240 multiple choice and true/false questions.

Digital Radiation Safety, 3rd Ed.
Course Approval End Date: 10/01/2027

Perhaps the most important tasks in the radiographer’s job description are to ensure the welfare of the patient and oneself. An essential component of this task for the radiographer is keeping radiation exposure as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) given the clinical indications and conditions. This course reviews the biologic effects of ionizing radiation; basic technological elements in photostimulable phosphor systems, charge-coupled devices, and complementary metal oxide semi-conductor systems as well as digital detectors and the digital image acquisition chain; and radiation protection principles essential to the digital imaging process. Concepts such as the types and interactions of radiation with matter, radiation exposure models, elements and characteristics of a digital image, exposure selection for pediatric patients, and the justification and optimization of radiation dose are discussed. The course highlights ALARA principles throughout the universal digital imaging process.

This course is based on the book Digital Radiation Safety, 3rd Edition by Jeana Fleitz, M.Ed., RT(R)(M)(ARRT)™. The book/PDF is 115 pages long and 8.5 x 11 inches in size. This book has 12 pt font and 1.5 line spacing.

The test has 48 multiple choice and true/false questions.

Patient Care in Medical Imaging
Course Approval End Date: 02/01/29

This X-Ray Lady course covers patient interactions and management in medical imaging. Topics include ethical and legal aspects, interpersonal communication, ergonomics and monitoring, medical emergencies, infection control, the handling and disposal of hazardous or toxic materials, and pharmacology as it relates to radiography. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) standard precautions and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines are also reviewed in this course.

This course is based on the book Patient Care in Medical Imaging by Jeana Fleitz, M.Ed., RT(R)(M)(ARRT)™. The book/PDF is 101 pages long and 8.5 x 11 inches in size.  This book has 12 pt font and 1.5 line spacing.

The test has 48 multiple choice and true/false questions.
