The expected outcome will be an increased knowledge of rare or unusual clinical disease states or syndromes. Awareness of the major dimorphic fungi in North America including geographic distribution, basic concepts in fungal pathogenesis, increased knowledge about when to think about an invasive fungal infection, understanding how to use the different diagnostic tests and knowledge of which antifungal drugs to use against the dimorphic fungi will be discussed which may lead to improved diagnosis and treatment for better patient care.
