OVERVIEW

Enroll in our CE course for Nurses and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) on the Pharmacological Management of Gastrointestinal Disorders to gain a robust understanding of gastrointestinal (GI) system functions and evidence-based pharmacological interventions. This course is meticulously designed to enhance clinical competencies in managing common and complex GI conditions. Participants will explore the anatomy and physiology of the GI tract, enabling them to understand drug actions and therapeutic strategies better. The curriculum covers the pharmacological classifications, mechanisms of action, indications, and side effects of drugs used in treating GI conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). Nurses and NPs will also learn to interpret patient symptoms about potential drug interactions, adverse reactions, and contraindications, ensuring safe and effective treatment. With a focus on practical application in clinical settings, this course equips learners with the tools necessary to confidently manage gastrointestinal pharmacotherapy. Through this 1-hour accredited activity, participants will enhance their capacity to deliver patient-centered care, reduce medication-related complications, and improve health outcomes for patients with GI disorders.
