Course Description:
This course is designed to enhance social workers' awareness, values, knowledge, skills, and methods of practice across settings, where priorities may vary greatly (and addresses principles that are valuable to all mental health professionals). This course is intended to inform practice and interventions with clients who have Substance Use Disorders (SUDs); improve the quality of treatment for clients with SUDs; and encourage professionals’ awareness of the knowledge, skills, competencies, and attitudes necessary to work effectively with clients who have SUDs, their families, and other service providers.
Learning Objectives:
• Analyze guiding principles, shifting trends, and goals of the ethical standards in treating clients with substance use disorders
• Interpret specific standards that address ethical responsibilities in treating clients with substance use disorders
