Course Description:
Part 4: Medical Ethics and Cannabis: Decriminalization, Legalization and Socialization

*Meets State of Michigan licensing requirements for pain and symptom management

Dr. Butler addresses legalization vs. decriminalization of cannabis leading to social stigmatization and inequity especially in underserved, vulnerable and minority populations and inherent ethical issues.

Medical and recreational marijuana are legal in Michigan. Marijuana is a Schedule 1 drug with no currently accepted medical use per the DEA. This 5-part series addresses current cannabis controversies in medicine, pharmacology, toxicology, psychology, politics and ethics.
