OVERVIEW

Clinicians Guide to Recognizing and Responding to Anti-Black Sentiment in the Clinical Setting is organized by Wellness Options.jcj.

• Do you believe members of the healthcare community should be doing more to address problems with race in the clinical setting, especially as it pertains to black patients?
• Do you also believe your formal training thus far has not been adequate in preparing you confidently to discuss this topic in a meaningful way with your black patients?
• As a healthcare professional, are you ready to make a commitment to address racial concerns within the workplace?

This activity is intended for physicians, physician assistants, registered nurses and nurse practitioners, psychologists, counselors, and social workers engaged in the care of patients with any disease or condition in the clinical setting including but not limited to primary care, hospital, managed care organizations, ambulatory care, and mental health facilities.

We designed this course to provide a framework for addressing racism within the clinical setting whether from patients, coworkers, supervisors, or ourselves.

• List of example questions to include in your intake paperwork to potentially identify those at risk for racial trauma
• Validation Toolkit: Do’s and Don’t to be considered during the clinical setting
• Fully customizable template for addressing Diversity and Inclusion Policies and Procedures for all marginalized groups within your healthcare organizations and local communities
• Opportunity for question and answer sessions as well as live discussion course material and vignettes
