  • Describe the labeled uses of atypical antipsychotics.
  • Analyze the adverse effects that can result from taking atypical antipsychotics.
  • Identify the rationale for utilizing long-acting injectable forms of atypical antipsychotics.
  • Describe the body’s reaction to abrupt discontinuation of atypical antipsychotics.
  • Explain the monitoring that must be considered when caring for a patient prescribed atypical antipsychotics.
