OVERVIEW

Anger: Handling a Powerful Emotion in a Healthy Way is organized by Genesis Continuing Education (CE) Group. This course has been approved for a maximum of 9 CE Credit Hours.

Course Overview:
Writing from a Christian therapy perspective, Gary Chapman, Ph.D., offers helpful insights into why people get angry, what can be done about it, and how to help others with their anger.

He addresses fundamental questions such as: What is the origin of anger and what is the purpose of anger? He maintains that understanding the origin of anger is essential to understanding the purpose of anger, and understanding the purpose of anger is essential to learning how to process anger in a constructive manner. He uses real-life examples of improved personal health and improved relationships.

This book puts into readable form the insights and techniques that have helped hundreds of individuals and couples develop a better way to process anger.

In this book, Chapman explains how to:
• Recognize the difference between 'bad' anger and 'good' anger
• Use anger to motivate someone toward positive change
• Release long-simmering resentment
• Teach children how to deal with anger

A discussion guide is included for individuals and small groups. Again, in this text, Chapman addresses anger management from a Christian therapeutic approach.

Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the clinician will be able to:
