Course Description:
The diagnosis and management of ocular inflammation is a crucial part of what optometrists encounter routinely in practice. An important contributor to ocular inflammation is allergies and the struggle that patients encounter especially during allergy season. The following presentation will focus on the signs and symptoms of patients experience who have allergies and other forms of ocular inflammation (e.g. uveitis). Current treatment and management options will be presented focusing on the currently available topical and oral medications for the treatment of ocular inflammation.

Learning Objectives:
• The attendee will be familiar with the available topical and oral steroid medications and their use in the treatment/management of ocular inflammation including uveitis.
• The attendee will be familiar with the various types of allergies and the signs and symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis.
• The attendee will be familiar with the currently available treatment options for patients with allergies including both topical and oral medications.
