Course Topics:
Psychopharmacology/Renal Disease
• Select appropriate pharmacologic agents for patients with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and insomnia; Adjust doses of or switch psychopharmacologic agents based on patient response and development of side effects; Determine the optimal monitoring frequency in patients with chronic kidney disease based on glomerular filtration rate and urinary albumin levels; Identify patient factors that increase risk for elevated creatinine in response to angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors; Counsel patients with chronic kidney disease on dietary modification.

Constipation/Pulmonary Hypertension
• Differentiate secondary from primary constipation; Explain evidence that shows benefit in constipation with consumption of kiwi and psyllium; Prescribe medications for treatment of patients with constipation; Distinguish pulmonary arterial hypertension from pulmonary venous hypertension; Evaluate a patient with confirmed PH.
