Description:
This first part of this presentation will focus on providing updates within the last 10 years from the field of psychopharmacology as they relate to mental health. We will also discuss new and/or novel approaches to psychopharmacology. Relevant research will be reviewed and discussed.
The second part of the presentation will address emerging clinical applications of psychedelic medicines. During this brief presentation, we will describe various psychedelic compounds, their known mechanisms of action, and various subjective effects. He will review the past and current literature on the potential therapeutic benefits, as well as the risks, of psychedelic medicines on a variety of clinical conditions. Discussion may also include psychedelic experiences outside of Western medical and research models, such as personal use, indigenous traditions, and religious use.
