Virtual 23rd Valve Disease, Structural Interventions, and Diastology/Imaging Summit is organized by Cleveland Clinic Center for Continuing Education and will be held on Feb 05, 2021.
Accreditation:
The Cleveland Clinic Foundation Center for Continuing Education designates this internet live activity for a maximum of 9.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part II Accreditation
ABIM MOC: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 9.25 Medical Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
Description:
Virtual 23rd Valve Disease, Structural Interventions, and Diastology/Imaging Summit which will focus on mitral, aortic and tricuspid valve diseases. The latest advances in structural interventions, percutaneous mitral repair, valve-in-valve procedures and LAA occluder devices will be addressed as well as the evaluation and management of diastolic dysfunction and a focused session on myocardial and pericardial diseases.
This course will provide an opportunity to receive updates in new and emerging topics from basic to advanced imaging techniques including 3-D echocardiography, strain imaging, Interventional echo as well as MRI/CT. New this year, there will be leading experts on valve, structural intervention and imaging that will be discussants for these topics
Learning Objectives:
• Apply echocardiography to diagnose the severity, mechanism, etiology, and hemodynamic impact of the many types of valve disease, including mitral regurgitation, aortic stenosis, aortic regurgitation and tricuspid valve disorders
• Assess the most recent innovations in structural interventions and describe their clinical use
• Identify indications and outcomes for new generation left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) devices
• Describe clinical methods to diagnose diastolic dysfunction and manage disorders such as cardiac amyloidosis, complicated pericarditis, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
• Discuss multimodality imaging techniques, including 3-D echocardiography, strain imaging, MRI/CT, as well as contrast echo
• Translate new guideline criteria on imaging into current decision-making regarding structural valve interventions, medical treatment, and surgical valve repair/replacement
