Course Aims:
The aim of this course is to facilitate the dental team to create suitable plans for dealing with urgent and emergency appointments: including diagnosis and treatment of urgent pain, swellings, and dental trauma.

Objectives:
• Utilising the key principles in clinical diagnosis and management of acute dental problems
• Developing diagnosis and treatment planning skills to improve the management of urgent dental appointments
• Triaging and booking non-scheduled appointments within a busy practice diary
• Outlining the international associations of dental trauma guidelines

Learning Outcomes:
Following the course, delegates will be able to:
• Create suitable plans with your entire dental team for the management of urgent or unexpected dental appointments
• Apply systems to cope with unplanned appointments in practice, thereby reducing stress to the dental team and patients.
• Implement evidence-based procedures to handle acute dental problems, including dental trauma
• Justify your use of advanced local anaesthetic blocks such as the Halstead, Vazirani Akinosi and Gow Gates Techniques to achieve effective numbness
