The IAS–USA Annual Virtual Course Update: Emerging Challenges in HIV Medicine is organized by International Antiviral Society-USA (IAS-USA) and will be held on Dec 01, 2026.
Description:
This comprehensive half-day virtual course will provide practical updates on emerging challenges in HIV medicine, with a focus on clinical decision-making for people with HIV across the continuum of care. Through expert presentations, interactive case discussions, and panel-based learning, participants will explore evolving approaches to antiretroviral therapy (ART), including regimen simplification, management of drug resistance, investigational therapies, and complex treatment cases.
The course will also address the diagnosis and management of cognitive decline in people with HIV, including the intersection of aging, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, cytomegalovirus infection, and other neurologic complications. Additional sessions will review new evidence on reducing cardiovascular disease risk in people with HIV, with updates from the REPRIEVE trial and current American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. Participants will leave with practical strategies for applying the latest evidence to optimize HIV care in clinical practice.
